Terms of service
Last updated 28 September 2026
These terms cover your use of Checkmate Cafe, a set of board games (chess, checkers and Chinese checkers) run by the developer of Checkmate Cafe (“we”) as a Discord Activity and in web browsers. By playing, you agree to them.
Playing
- The game is free to play.
- When you play inside Discord, you also have to follow Discord's Terms of Service and Community Guidelines.
- Be decent to the people at your table. Don't use offensive display names, spam reactions, or try to disrupt other people's games.
- Don't cheat, automate play, attack or overload the servers, or try to get at data that isn't yours.
Your progress
Experience, levels and leaderboards are for fun. They have no money value, and we may reset or adjust them, for example to fix a bug or undo cheating. The privacy policy explains what we keep and how to have it deleted.
Availability
We run the game as is and may change it, pause it or stop it at any time. Updates and restarts can end games in progress. We can't promise it will always be available or free of errors.
Ending access
We may block anyone who breaks these terms from playing.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the game.
Changes
If these terms change, we'll update this page and the date at the top. Playing after a change means you accept the new terms.
